The property depends exclusively on the sun’s power and encourages a detox from personal technology. But luxury doesn’t take a backseat. It’s in the wood stacked for your indoor fireplace, the invitation of a secluded double hammock, and the bedtime cocoon of a Tasmanian timber bedhead and lush French linens. Mood lighting, ensuite bathroom, a fully-equipped kitchen, and a couch just begging to be curled up in complete a list of creature comforts.

Aquila’s suite of Eco Pods occupy their own tract of farmland, carefully orientated to ensure total seclusion. Settle into Tasmanian-made Adirondack chairs on your private deck, pour a glass of Coal River Valley wine, and take in breathtaking views over local vineyards and across rolling hills to Hobart’s kunanyi/Mt Wellington. This is where freedom and space live.

A king-sized bed rests against a Huon Pine backdrop, bringing the outdoors in, with morning coffee views out to rural idylls and sandstone cliffs. Step onto your private deck and into a refurbished Victorian-era clawfoot bath, where bubbles belong in the tub and your glass. Mood lighting, a fully accessible ensuite bathroom, a kitchenette and a wood heater add to the simple but decadent pleasures of a grown-up glamping experience.
